The grand finale of SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2017 which was organized across 26 centers PAN India from 1st to 2nd April 2017 concluded at 8 pm after 36 hours of marathon application developed by students of various colleges
Ministry of Steel (Govt of India) managed one such center at the Oriental University Indore, where 54 teams having total number of 432 students from different part of country participated with full vigor and enthusiasm.
12 Judges evaluated and a battery of domain experts guided the teams day and night for arriving at useful application development.
Shri. Atul Bhatt CMD, MECON during the inaugural session briefed about the 2 days activity and also emphasized innovation & solutions being done in the steel sector.
The most thrilling moment during this 2 day event came when the students could listen to our honorable dynamic Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi through live video conferencing.
5 teams where Finally declared winners by Ms. Urvilla Khati IAS, Joint Secretary – Ministry of Steel (Govt. of India)
Winner Team from Tamilnadu “ Team Tesla” of SRM University, lead by Soham Chatterjee and won the prize money of Rs. 1,00,000 /-
1st runner up from Karnataka “ PEC Warrior” of Pragati Engg. College, lead by Hemantha Kumar and won the prize money of Rs. 75,000 /-
2nd runner up from Jharkhand “ ENEGMA” of BIT Sindri, lead by Sumit Kumar Thakur and won the prize money of Rs. 50,000 /-
4th Position of Inspiration award team from Jharkhand “ Smart Jharkhand” of BIT Mesra, lead by Rohan Kumar and won the prize money of Rs. 10,000 /-
5th Position of Deloitte award to team from Rajasthan “ Hackstorm” of GIT College lead by Saurabh Agarwal and won the prize money of Rs. 10,000 /-
Honorable Shri Vishnu Deo Sai – Ministry of State for Steel (Govt. of India) gave away the prizes and addressed the students to make the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of Young India come true with giving the Innovative ideas and implementing it to the success of our nation.
Shri K. L Thakral Hon’ble Chancellor of Oriental University welcomed all the dignitaries and students during the inaugural programme and Shri S. Chattopadhya (Dir. Projects) MECON the nodal officer of this event proposed the vote of thanks during valedictory session.
