Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India has organized a three-day National Convention on ‘Digital Initiatives for Higher Education’. MHRD invited private universities and public universities in the country to share their best practices through a ppt presentation. Vice-Chancellor and his team of Oriental University, Indore has sent a ppt and got response from the University Grants Commission (UGC) that the presentation our university is short-listed under the category of community out-reach. UGC asked us to revise the ppt with emphasis on community out-reach. The revised ppt was sent and was accepted for presentation. Presentation of Oriental University was one among the 7 presentations made by the private universities in the country.
Prof. Pulapa Subba Rao, Vice-Chancellor made his presentation on 10th July 2017 at Vignan Bhawan, New Delhi in the presence of Honourable Minister of HRD, Chairman, UGC, Secretaries of the Government and Vice-Chancellors of private Universities. Prof. Subba Rao stated that Universities should reach the communities extensively in order to discharge their comprehensive roles as well as for integrated sustainable development of the nation.
Prof. Rao explained the community out-reach activities like students and faculty addressing the high school students, presentations by the Spiritual Gurus, psychological, career, financial and personal counseling to student, entrepreneurship initiatives and earning while learning,
