Message from Chancellor’s Desk

The Oriental Group has been established with the dream of creating a “Nalanda” and “Takshashila” to restore the former educational glory of India. I stand in awe of the dream taking shape slowly but surely.

The University at Indore was set up more than a decade ago. The soul of Oriental University, Dr. K. L. Thakral, my father and erstwhile founder Chancellor OUI, though, is no longer with us – but I carry the torch forward – for there is no thought other than Education in our minds. Education, for us, means shaping a student as a globally equipped professional individual, with a solid Indian foundation. Our students stand up to this in whatever field they are performing. It makes me proud to see successful individuals, in India and overseas, excelling in their respective fields and find that they are none other than Oriental Alumni. Thank you my dear students, for upholding the values, knowledge and basics taught to you at Oriental.

At Oriental the environment is learning friendly. State-of-art infrastructure, laboratories, well-stocked library and highly qualified faculty members are special features of the University. Research and development facilities for faculty as well students, is another dimension which is emphasized. We follow the doctrine ‘Education is unlimited learning’ truly in practice. Guiding our students along these lines we modify them into winners. In addition, regular interaction with industrial experts and MOUs with reputed corporate houses equips students to fit perfectly into their work zones, once they are ready to graduate from the University.
